Weddings and Events…
Lucy can bring the beauty of voice & harp to your special day with a mixture of vocal and instrumental pieces. Please contact her via the contact page to discuss your requirements. Within easy reach of Cambridge Lucy charges £250-350.
Lucy helped make our wedding day magical. She played both through the service and during the reception afterwards, setting an atmosphere which we only hoped for. Her beautiful voice and excellent piano bolstered our singing, whilst her flexibility meant that we had the day which we dreamed of. So many of our friends and family spoke highly of Lucy throughout the day - certainly we could not recommend her enough. The Rowan Tree was the most perfect song - exactly right. We hope your fingers have recovered from all your lovely playing!
- Simon and Pippa Fell (Lucy played and sang the folk song ‘The Rowan Tree’ while Pippa walked down the aisle)
We can't thank you enough for your contribution to our day. Your beautiful music set the perfect tone for our wedding reception and ended up being one of the most talked about aspects of the day. So many of our family and guests commented on how much they enjoyed your performance. We had two engaged couples at our wedding and both are now looking into getting harpists for their own weddings now! Also a very special thanks on behalf of Molly, our 2 year old flower girl, who loved the songs you played especially for her. Her parents were so inspired by your music that they are already lining her up for lessons once she is old enough!

In Lucy is found a rare creative elegance. Gifted with harp and voice she played thru the Signing of the Register and created moving arrangements for the bride’s entry and the final processional of the bridal party. We were utterly without anxiety knowing that the music for our wedding day rested in Lucy’s capable hands. She is unswervingly confident, with a grace and gravitas that carries through all she does… and she can sure sing a great tune! Thank you Lucy.

Thank you so much for being part of our special day and for your wonderful playing. We had lots of lovely comments from our guests. I was super stressed before the ceremony due to the snow and nerves, but as soon as I walked in the room it all faded, so thank-you.

Thank you so much for the beautiful music you played at our wedding yesterday. I am sorry I did not get a chance to talk to you and thank you personally as it all seems to go by so quickly. I really didn’t want to leave the room at the end, I would much rather have stayed and listened to you! All of our guests enjoyed it and you were the main subject at the wedding breakfast, especially with my Uncle John!! To have you there was my one personal treat and you made the moment so emotionally special so thank you once again.

Just a line to say that so many people have commented on the lovely music that you played at our anniversary party. We had a wonderful day at Moggerhanger and so many happy memories. One of my friends described your performance as " the icing on the cake". Thanks again for coming.
- Heather Hotston-Moore
Thank you for playing and singing so beautifully at my 'tea' yesterday. It was appreciated by everyone and George and I thought you made it a very memorable occasion. We enjoyed playing your CD after your departure so you were still here in spirit! A big THANK YOU again.
- Anne Marie Atterbury
Just to say a huge thank-you for playing so beautifully at our daughter’s wedding at Longstowe on 21st May. You helped make the day special for all of us.
- Duncan and Helen McCallum
We hope you & your family are well. Just to say a huge thank you for playing at our wedding. It was a beautiful day & you certainly made it very special with your fantastic playing & singing. Everyone has said how lovely it was & particularly 'Come away with me'. We have some lovely pics of Amelia playing the harp & want to thank you also for allowing her that pleasure & for your patience with her. She really enjoyed herself & is always talking about it in her own little way. We just got the DVD back & you singing 'Twinkle' with her brought a few tears! It was beautiful. We will certainly be recommending you in the future & wish you & your family well.

Dear Lucy - it has taken me too long to say how much you did for my Step-Mother’s funeral. It seemed to us that you put your soul into the music and passed it on to us. The music was all very well chosen, very calming and a lovely framework to the celebration. Joan, I know, would have loved it.

Practical Issues to consider
1. Remember to consider where the harp is going to be - ideally in a quiet corner without waitresses squeezing past!
2. Lucy will need a parking space as near to the playing location as possible
3. Lucy will arrive 30 minutes before starting to play
4. Lucy will take a short break every 30 minutes or so when playing over a longer time.
Q: When is a good time to have vocal/harp music?
A: Having a harpist at your wedding ceremony can be a beautiful addition to your special day. Harp music while your guests arrive can create a beautiful atmosphere from which to begin your wedding service. These are other points in the service which are often accompanied by music:
1. Entrance of the bride - couples often choose 'Here come the bride' or sometimes a more personal choice.
2. During the signing of the register - 1 or 2 songs at this time can be performed. Couples often choose songs that are special to them or have sometimes chosen something from one of my CDs.
3. Exit of the bride and groom
4. During the pre-wedding breakfast drinks. Lucy is not available to playing during wedding breakfasts.
